Pause 2020
PAUSE FESTIVAL THIRD EDITION IN AUGUST 2020
La Donaira returns to its roots with a reduced version of the Pause festival, started in August 2017: "the idea of a magical whirlwind of outdoor recitals and improvisations".
On the 24th and 25th of July, Rosanne Philippens and her sextet will take us on a musical voyage during two magical summer nights. They will be performing the Verklaerte Nach by famous Austrian composer Schoenberg. From Bach to Schoenberg, the music will journey from the Baroque, through the romantic and finally to the modern period. ⠀
During these performances, we will not only be moving through a musical and historical soundscape but also through the physical landscape of La Donaira, with different pieces played in various enchanting locations. ⠀
On July 31st and August 1st, Julien Brocal, winner of the BBC Music Magazine's Newcomer of the Year Award 2018, returns to the estate to delight us with his rendition of Chopin's Concert 1.
Both nights have a mixed framework program of classic and romantic literature, an opportunity to listen to Chopin in the wild highlands of the Serranía de Ronda.
